I cannot log into my email from IE or the yellow letter in yahoo messenger?

I cannot log onto my email with l_maryann_l to read my yahoo email asscicated with that address. I can read my l_kiss_n_tell_l email and 2 others. It is NOT a cable issue It is NOT an ie issue. I click the sign on with my name and password and it takes me to that long path below. I have a corrupt path for my email address.

When I go to mail.yahoo.com and try to log onto l_maryann_l email with my password the url address up top is this: http://msg.edit.yahoo.com/config/reset_c... I have contacted yahoo 10 times, their path is incorrect in the url.

Then if you don't have it open My Yahoo and put mail on it and clilck on a message and it will take you there.

Thousands are having all kinds of problems with their mail since the new format, with Server Farm issues with Original Mail AND Beta Mail, several months ago!

Yahoo! and Sun Java are also having conflicts. Rather than trying to work around them, here is the easy and fastest way to cure them (for most). Go to Tools, open Internet Options, and select Advance tab. Scroll down the list and see if you have Microsoft Virtual Machine listed, if so, uncheck the 2 java鈥檚 listed. Make sure JIT is checked, click apply then ok. and then Close. This lets MSN virtual machine launch Yahoo! mail.

Also: you will have less problems with Mail if you sign in via Messenger! Go to preferences, general, then check box: Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger. Then click on the little envelope icon on top of messenger box. Or go to My Yahoo and click on your mail link. Or click on the Big RED Y! on the Yahoo! Toolbar. Bottom line is any link that already has you signed in!!!

I recommend that you use Original Mail until beta works out the bugs. Just click on Switch Back on the top of your mail page. FYI, beta means TESTING. Go back to IE6 which works just fine and is problem free. It is still installed on your pc. Just go to Start, setting, and add/remove programs and delete IE7. If you are using Yahoo Mail Plus, and your server farm has problems, switch to the free service until things are worked out.

NOTE: Use beta software at your own risk; it is intended for testing and evaluation purposes only. Do not install beta software on your primary computer or production environment.

Firefox is slow because of the large number themes and extensions that we install in Firefox. If you remove all of these, then, firefox is equally fast during its loading. However, more that being fast it is important for a browser to be stable. IE is not while both Firefox as well as Opera are. Opera takes the lead in this.

Try to open about ten tabs in all these browsers and you will find the difference in stability.
I find Mozilla Firefox is by far and away the fastest and the best. IE is too slow and is riddled with problems. Some say Opera is great too, but I need to test it more.

You need to do a bit of cross browser compatibility, which means that you need to understand the limitations of the different major browsers. From there you figure out a happy medium of what bells %26amp; whistles you want %26amp; what users you want to alienate. It's a real PITA.

I have a computer using Firefox (FF) and I have flash installed, I've reinstalled a few times, and it simply won't work on any browser. I've let FF automatically install it, then I manually installed it and nothing at all.

I've even used IE for about 3seconds to check if it worked and nothing at all.

Position your mouse pointer on an empty area of the toolbar area (you may need to resize some that are displayed). Do a right-mouse click on the area and you should see a list of all the toolbars available to you. Menu Bar is the one you are looking for.

I had the same problem too, versions 7 s@cks. All you have to do is remove it using control panel add and remove and Version 6 comes back up.

open up IE and click on tools then internet options then far right tab. go down the list and click on all boxes that you need or want.

pay attention to the media and art area as I am sure this is off to not show the pics.

if you right click on the tool bar, a menu will pop up with an option to lock the toolbars. If the check mark is selected it is already locked. If other people are changing it there is no way to lock it so they can't put the address bar back in. You may need to use a different browser that is set up to not have the address bar in it.

Okay uninstall the toolbar go to www.filehippo.com and get the ccleaner 1.29 run that to get clean the registry of that file and anything else that you have in there. Once that is done go back to yahoo and get the toolbar again install it and then run the ccleaner again once that is complete restart the pc. HAPPY SURFING! :-)

Answer to the additional bit - Yes - as long as you had ie6 before which I assume you. IE6 is an integral part of office xp - you try installing xp without it and have no "alternative" browser on disk. Avent and firefox are pretty good alternatives to ie6 or 7
Try a System Restore! Go into Start Menu, Programs, Accessories, System Tools and the click on System Restore. Read the intro, then select the date and time you installed IE7, and continue with the installation.

Note: you will NOT loose any files with System Restore, however you may need to reinstall any programs you installed after IE7.
don't try the ' System Restore 'cause you face serious problems with some other games or you may have to re-install some of your games. To answer your question is complex but a good thing is to DOWNLOAD THE IE6 EITHER FROM THE CD-ROM of the Windows or borrow it from a friend or download it from www.microsoft.com !!

Hi,

you could go check your security level in IE. Go into Tools, Internet Options, Security. Try changing the level down a bit and see if it helps. You can also click on Restricted Sites and check if MSN, Yahoo, ... are in there (they should not).

Also, you can go check in the Privacy tab (instead of the Security tab) if you are blocking cookies. Again, try bringing down a bit your level and see if it helps.

If this does not solve the problem, then I don't know what could cause this.

No, it doesn't. I like Opera, but I have time on my hands. I used to use Internet Explorer, but then I switched to Firefox, and it took about 30 seconds to switch. It is no big deal. Firefox is very easy to use, looks much like IE and you won't have trouble at all..except for getting used to the fact that it's much faster and you won't have all the popups.

Some things won't work in Firefox, like some Internet games, and you can't read PDF files unless you download the extension for it..but it will talk you through it.
it is extremly simular to IE but SO MUCH EASIER TO USE and more powerfull
only in good ways, like being able to open new pages with a toolbox button, or do lots of screens on tabs within a single window -- all stuff microsoft will (honest, i'm not making it up) be ripping off in its next browser

FF does not take any time to learn. It is just like any other browser except you can customize it with themes and extension (which is as easy as downloading and restarting the browser). I don't know if it looks like IE but you can customize it to where it look NOTHING like IE.

I just recently started using Mozilla Firefox but now I can't see which contacts are online when I go to yahoo mail. I could check my status and the status of my contacts in yahoo mail while using IE but not Mozilla Firefox. Why? Do I have to download something or click on something to be able to see which contacts are online while using Firefox for accessing Yahoo mail?

IE is way better than any other internet browser because it has all the appropriate plug-ins, add-ons, and extras to view these products and other browsers don't. I recommend that you stick with Windows. It's obviously the better choice.

I have a high end laptop which is fast but IE loads the page much quicker than Firefox - its the pictures on the page which take a long time to load not any other plug-ins. I have vista is that the problem - do people with vista face a similar problem ?

My task bar (Vista) disappears when I open IE. I can only access the task bar (or make it reappear) by selecting the Start button. I would guess it would have to do with how many you are buying... I think people tend to buy a larger count of pain killers (you know, like 100 or 250 in a bottle), compared to maybe 20 in a box.

Personally, I buy chewable painkillers, and they are packaged individually.

My opinion. It's a scam to make you think you're getting your money's worth. I buy generic and pay the same for 100 benadryl in a bottle as the brand name 24 blister pack.
Look harder at the store. I buy my benedryl , claritin (generics) in the large size bottles. When you buy smaller numbers they are packaged in blister packs.

Its a bit drastic...:

Right click a grey bit of the bar at the bottom (one with no button on it).

Left click 'Properties'

That opens up a new screen... left click the 'Advanced' tab.

Use the 'Clear' button about half way down to remove your browsing history PLUS document and program history.

That works in Win2000 and XP ... should work in 98 %26amp; 95 too but I cant test that here!
try using total commander instead of my computer when you try to delete the files in the temporary Internet folder.
Go to "Tools" tab, then "Internet Options", the in the General tab look for "Browsing History", there is two buttons: one for "delete" and the other for "settings".

If you are using the new Internet Explorer 7, you can press the little star for "Favorites", then you will see three tabs: Favorites, Feeds and History. If you click in "History" you can delete date by date.... or even better.... specific web pages you don't want to show!!!!

You can download and reinstall IE. That should fix it.

You can see when viewed in IE, everything is as it should be. When viewed in Firefox, the banner size flash app is lowered down a bit, which moves the layout and makes it look not so good. It just happens I saw no difference in my versions of those browsers...(I also tried IceMonkey and Netscape)...but that's me and my computer and my maintenance and...well...all those other variable thingies.

But I will say this: personally, I'm in favor of NOT using tables for layout. I'd go for switching to CSS and divs, like say, a wrapper for the banner, then a left div for the image with a certain percentage floated left, and a right div floated either left or right.

Alternatively a banner with a div floated left and using the photo as a background-image... and a div floated right and the movie as a background-image.

First, you should design and develop in Firefox, that browser is far more standard than IE will ever be. Second, you can make a conditional comment and a separate stylesheet for IE using these methods:

Conditional commenting only works with Internet Explorer.

You should use a valid DOCTYPE so you can validate your code in the w3 validator. You're working in tables and have divs in your tables which is not real good to do. You dont have the flexibility as you would with just a pure div /css layout.

It sounds like it's running in Safe Mode, but there is one question? Did you download and install IE7? That has caused some problems with add-ons. If you did, you may have a corrupt download. If you do have IE7 and want to keep it, I'd suggest you uninstall it and re-install it. Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and the Show updates box at the top. When the list loads, find Internet Explorer 7 and click to remove it. Close the control panel and restart the computer. Then go to the Microsoft site and download and install it again.

If you have IE7 and DON'T want to keep it, by uninstalling it and restarting the computer it will revert back to IE6. That may solve your problem.

You can try this, drag the current IE icon to the Recycle Bin and delete it. Click on Start, Programs and see if Internet Explorer is in your list of programs (it should be). Right click on it and select Send to Desktop (shortcut). Then try that shortcut. If that doesn't work, then uninstall because what you have is corrupted.

I have used Firefox since it came out...no problems, I love it. I can't stand IE, but I never had to worry about it. UNTIL NOW. My son downloaded a program he shouldnt have and my system suffered. you should be able go into internet properties and clear your history that way through the control panel or by right clicking on the big blue e icon for explorer on your desktop or yahoo should have a history button that you can click on to bring up your net browsing history the select all Crtl A at the same time and then hit the delete button

Usually i can just right click on a persons profile and view because my Internet Explorer will open. With this new laptop I preform the same function but i cannot get IE to open the request. What am I doing wrong??

You MUST have Internet Explorer OPENED AND RUNNING. It use to be if you were in Messenger, and you clicked on "View My Profile," it would automatically open an IE window for you. Now, an Internet Explorer window has to be opened before clicking "View My Profile."

A. Go back to Messenger, but DO NOT close Internet .

B. Open conversation window with that contact

Is there a standard event that IE triggers across all web pages for either when the page begins to load or finishes loading? I am trying to attach some logic to these events but am finding that different events are fired by different webpages. =(

Well, your best bet to be able to execute c++ on the client, will be to look into ActiveX components (which you call via javascript or vbscript), the event that fires up on browser load you can attach like this:

The issue you will have with executing assemblies is obviously security, the moment the code wants to fire the user will get a warning.

Depends on what scripting/programming language you're using.

For JavaScript you can call a function by putting onload="functionname(params)" inside the body tag

or for ASP.NET, in the behind code there is a PageLoad() function.

Downloading more than two items in IE?

When browsing the internet, I occassionaly like to download more than 2 items at once, but IE has something set up that only allows you to download 2.

I have tried firefox, but for some reason, it no longer works on my computer, and I have tried re-installing it.

Any modifications to IE Settings that will allow me to download more than 2 items at once?

So if you don鈥檛 have a decent internet security program then perhaps run the superantispyware with your antivirus in the background.

If you sick of antivirus programs that don鈥檛 work perhaps run onecare full time and run superantispyware whenever.

Now you should be flying and Onecare has even set up a new system restore point for you.

You could try using a downloading accelerator program. Google the Word DAP or D.A.P. It is "download accelerator plus" and this program speeds up your downloads and will allow you to download more than two files at a time.
use flashget or download manager to get the files. Or either use free firefox browser.

Usually this only occurs when you hold the shift key down when clicking, or right-click and select "Open in new window". Does this also happen when you use Windows explorer (Start, My Computer)? If so, select Tools, Folder Options in Windows Explorer and under Browse folders change "Open each folder in its own window" to "Open each folder in the same window". You may have to reboot to see the effect.

Because Ie has a huge problem with text. If you download the ie developer tool bar you will see that IE puts text blocks where it doesnt have tags touching, it doesnt ignore space between the elements.

If you go from code that looks like this and remove the spaces it will make a huge difference, even though it shouldn't.

So going from %26lt;/a%26gt; %26lt;a href="... to

%26lt;/a%26gt;%26lt;a href=".. makes a difference. I have tested your page after removing that it it doesnt display that bar.

Because it is a dreamweaver template you may have to edit that part in note pad just to fix it.

OK well it does look fine in FF, in IE7 the maroon bar flashes and then disappears.

The reason appears to be because you've given the div MenuTop a background-color property with a value of of maroon in your style sheet.

Either delete this property or change the value to transparent.
I don't get the maroon bar you're talking about in IE7 or Firefox 2.

HOWEVER, I do see some extra semi-colons in at least 4 spots in your stylesheet that could be causing problems (they're AFTER the comments)
